Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a hear to of wisdom. Ps. 90:12

What is your purpose in life?
Thinking….

Christmas marked the entrance of Jesus Christ into our world which we celebrated a few days ago. Easter and ascension marked the exit of Jesus Christ from our world and return to the Father. Sandwiched between these two periods is the brief life of 33 years that Jesus Christ lived on earth.

Some will consider His death untimely, too young, a waste as He had potential to accomplish a lot in the world, etc. But life is not about how long you live, or the things you accomplish. Life is about fulfilling God’s purpose for you. For Jesus Christ, God’s purpose for Him was to die for the redemption of sinful man. If Christ lived 1000 years, did miracles but did not die for sinful man, His purpose on earth would have been defeated.

God has a purpose and a task for each one of us to accomplish and time is running out. Apostle Paul knew his purpose and task clearly and articulated it in Acts 20:24 “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish my race and complete the task the lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”

If you have more than one purpose and engaged in several tasks today, be sure that you are doing God’s will and focusing on that. Let 2021 be the year we all become wiser and live with the right purpose and task given us by God. Have a blessed New Year!
