Come now, let us settle the matter, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. (Isa. 1:18). There is no sweeter invitation in this world like what this verse presents, given that every one of us has transgressed against God by breaking the moral laws He gave us. Even people who lie to themselves, who boastfully and foolishly claim that there is no God, have their conscience accuse them now and then about things they do that are not right. The idea of ignoring our sins, blaming someone, or trying to resolve them through self-righteous efforts has brought no peace to anyone. The God we have sinned against is Holy, and no sinner could approach Him.
Thankfully, God is also gracious and merciful, and that is why He reached out to us first. God is ready and eager to resolve our issues, forgive us, and pursue reconciliation. He even promises to make us spotlessly clean. Trust that you have accepted this invitation as I have.
