When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is? Mat. 16:13

Choose Humility

Jesus did not ask the question above because he had an identity crisis or was suffering from low self-esteem. He willingly chose to humble himself, took on the form of a man, and decided to serve rather than be served. While God the Father called Jesus His only begotten Son, many people considered him one of the great prophets. Demons knew him and called him the Son of the living God. Jesus knew who He was but chose to call himself the Son of man. That is how he displayed humility throughout his earthly life. People who genuinely acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God also submit to His Lordship. When you choose humility and live it out, people will elevate you. The egocentric is dying daily for recognition, but all he gets are holes poked into his over-inflated ego. “… those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted” (Luke 14:11).
