WEEK ONE – FOCUS IS ON PRAISE/THANKSGIVING
FROM HOME AND CROSS-BOARDER MISSION FIELDS
“Praise the lord. Praise the name of the lord! Praise him you servants of the lord, you who minister in the house of the lord, in the courts of the courts of our God.” Psalms 135:1-2(NIV)

 
 SUNDAY 1ST Praise God for sustaining EMS as an organization, thank him for his protection and provision for all missionaries in the head office, schools and the field. Thank God for the safety in travels within and outside the country for personal and ministry purposes. 

NOTE: FIRST (1ST) MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH IS OBSERVED NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY AS EMS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY. THEREFORE, ALL EMS ARMS, MISSIONARIES, OFFICE STAFF, PRAYER PARTNERS AND SUPPORTERS SHOULD PLEASE ENDEAVOR TO JOIN THE EMS INTERNATIONAL HEAD OFFICE IN PRAYERS. WE JOIN FAITH AND TRUST GOD IN ONE ACCORD WITH BRETHREN AROUND THE WORLD FOR A STEADY AND FRUITFUL GROWTH OF THE WORK OF MISSIONS, PEACE AND THE SALVATION OF NATIONS, FOR REVIVAL AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF THE CHURCH. OUR COOPERATE PRAYER TIME AT THE HEAD OFFICE IS 8-9AM, 12-1PM, AND 3-4 PM RESPECTIVELY. YOU CAN JOIN US IN PRAYERS WHEREVER YOU MAY BE AT THOSE TIMES OR MAKE OUT TIME OF YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE AS YOU ARE LED BY GOD. PLEASE, JUST BE SURE TO PRAY ALONG AS YOU FAST. 

MONDAY 2ND Praise the lord for raising three more additional supporters for the North East region, one from Tangale DCC and two from Kume DCC. Pray that God will continue to open more doors for them even as they support the work of advancing the kingdom of God through EMS. 

TUESDAY 3RD Thank God for healing our missionaries in the North Region Rev. Hussaini Gajere and Rev. Ibrahim Sarki who were down for a while due to ill health. Ask the Lord to give them more strength and good health even as they continue to serve in his vineyard. 

WEDNESDAY 4TH Appreciate God for the ministry of the Gados who have been connected to a new community known as Neni Gungu through Saidou also known as Papa, the first convert in Naimey. Pray that God will use them mightily to share the message of the cross with the residents of this community. 

THURSDAY 5TH Thank God for the safety he granted the Adamus to Ouagadougou Burkina Faso. Thank God for raising a church that has adopted the Burkina Faso field. 

FRIDAY 6TH Praise the Lord for raising two more additional supporters in the Far North Region, Women Fellowship 2nd ECWA church Malumfashi and ECWA church Bagauda Kano DCC. Ask the Lord to bless them abundantly and continue to ignite the fire of missions in the hearts of the people who have been called unto him. 

SATURDAY 7TH Thank God for Laluwa mission station in Shongom DCC that has been weaned into an LCB. Pray that God will uphold the church to stand on a firm foundation in Christ to the glory of his name.

WEEK TWO – FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS 

And I will do whatever you ask in my name so that the Father may be glorified in his name John 14:13 

SUNDAY 8TH EMS MANAGEMENT Pray for a renewal of strength, more grace, blessings and protection for the EMS Management Team. Ask the Lord to give them wisdom and direction as they work daily and travel frequently to advocate for the cause of Christ and provide leadership within and beyond Nigeria for the purpose of God’s kingdom around the world. 

MONDAY 9TH EMS BOARD Pray for God’s wisdom and direction for the EMS Board. Ask the lord to lead them into his will even as they make important decisions that will have a positive ripple effect on the entire EMS organization to the glory of his name. 

TUESDAY 10TH EMS STAFF Praise God for all EMS staff who are serving in various capacities; ask the Lord to give them renewed strength and wisdom as they carry out the responsibilities assigned to them. Pray that they will experience an infilling of the Holy Spirit so that through their conduct others will see the light. 

WEDNESDAY 11TH NORTH EAST REGION Pray for God’s healing upon Pastor Tambe Maina’s wife who sustained a fracture after an accident and also Rev. Malackson Istifanus and Rev. Audu Babaji who are suffering from illnesses. Ask the lord to stretch his hands upon them and heal them. 

THURSDAY 12TH EMS CHILDREN/FIELD MISSION SCHOOLS Thank God for the donation of bags of grains and other items to the schools by ECWA Women Fellowship International. Ask the lord to bless them abundantly. 

  • Ask the lord to continue to meet the needs of mobility, water, security and food for all the schools 
  • Pray that God will raise more supporters and teachers for the schools and for the success of the upcoming Teachers’ Training in Jos. 

FRIDAY 13TH EMS RETREAT CENTER RHIZHA Pray for God’s favour and blessings upon Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Neung Sung Lee as they rest and connect with family, friends and supporters in Korea. Pray that their effort to print the Korean version of his teachings which he hopes to translate into English and Hausa will be a success for the advancement of God’s kingdom. 

SATURDAY 14TH EMS PRAYER AND PROMOTION UNIT Keep praying for God’s provision for the printing of the Mission News which costs 1.6 million per quarter; ask the lord to open doors so that the sum of N500, 000 that is needed for upgrading the EMS website to the desired level for effective ministry will be realized. 

WEEK THREE – FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS 

“And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that your bond-servants may speak your word with all confidence, Acts 4:29 

SUNDAY 15TH NORTH WEST REGION Pray that God will raise support to recruit seven more missionaries for the new mission stations that have been opened up in this region. Ask the lord to make provision for funds that are needed to sink wells in some mission stations and various other projects.

MONDAY 16TH EMS SUPPORTERS/PARTNERS Praise God for the life of our numerous supporters, donors and partners whom the Lord is using to support the work of EMS through their donations in cash and kind. Ask that they will continue to experience God’s abundant blessings in their lives. 

TUESDAY 17TH FAR NORTH WEST REGION Ask the lord to comfort our missionaries who have been bereaved especially the missionary who lost his child as a result of car accident. Ask the lord to encourage them and give them fortitude. 

WEDNESDAY 18TH SOUTH NORTH EAST REGION Pray that God will bring to an end the silent killings going on in Gongola DCC and kidnappings in Taraba DCC which have become rampant. Ask the lord to protect his children from all harm that may befall them. 

  • Pray for the success of the upcoming supporters/ awareness on the 29th – 1st March 2020 ask the Lord to stir the hearts of the brethren during the event support the work of missions for the growth of his kingdom. 

THURSDAY 19TH MID CENTRAL REGION Praise the Lord for the opportunity to share the message of salvation to many people out of whom 38 people gave their lives to Christ while 139 rededicated their lives to him. Pray that they will grow in the faith and not relent their commitment to follow Christ. 

FRIDAY 20TH CENTRAL REGION Thank God for three Muslims who gave their lives to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit? Ask the Lord to give them courage and strengthen their faith in him. 

  • Thank the lord for the successful weaning of two EMS stations Gwallunabuyi and Gidan Dodo all in Kaffi DCC into LCBs ask the Lord to uphold them that they will grow from strength to strength 
  • Pray for Pastor Musa Bala who underwent medical surgery. Ask the Lord to help him recover quickly and fully. 

SATURDAY 21ST Pray for our missionaries who are passing through challenges of insecurity; in Bada village, Duruku Central LCC 20 people including the village head were kidnapped and three churches destroyed. Likewise in Yole Tudun Wada LCC, 8 people were kidnapped and the entire community fled. Pray for Kaure LCC, Katarma, Doka LCC in Kaduna South DCC and Kwassam DCC that the Lord will bring all the attacks in these places to an end in his mighty power. 

WEEK FOUR – FOCUS ON CROSS-BORDERS MISSION FIELDS 

And he entered the synagogue and continued speaking out boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God Acts 19:8 

SUNDAY 22ND CROSS BORDERS CRITICAL NEED We are still trusting God for the sum of N854M that is urgently needed for various critical Cross Borders Projects. Let’s not relent in praying that God will open doors to raise the funds that will meet these needs.

MONDAY 23RD BURKINA FASO Appreciate God for the safe arrival of Pastor Stephen Adamu and his family in the Burkina Faso field. They are gradually adapting to the new environment. Pray for God’s grace and direction to them as they settle down to face the task ahead of them. Ask God to raise support to recruit two nationals of the country into the ministry. 

TUESDAY 24TH GAMBIA Thank God for the safety he granted Pastor Pallyon’top John James who has since arrived The Gambia as a Cross Borders missionary ask the lord to give him wisdom and direction as he uses his guitar and Computer and English lessons to reach out to especially children and young adults with the message of salvation. 

  • Pray for Pastor Lawrence Jah, of ECWA Church Old Yundum who is using the school to reach out to the community ask the lord to open doors for more classrooms for this purpose. 

WEDNESDAY 25TH GHANA Thank God for wisdom to convince some of the men whose women are already members to be part of ECWA Zenu, Mr. Bismark specifically. Pray that the church will continue to experience growth and stability for the glory of God.

THURSDAY 26TH tMALAWI thank God for the success of the ministry of the Mammans in Malawi. Pray for funds to purchase a Bus for ECWA Malawi which will cost 10 million Kwacha which is equivalent to 5 million Naira. The Mammans are also trusting God for funds to procure whiteboards to teach children and the literacy classes. They need about 160,000 Kwacha which is equivalent N 80,000. Pray that God will make provision for these needs. 

FRIDAY 27TH NIGER REPUBLIC Praise the Lord for healing Mrs. Lydia John Gado who was hospitalized in January,she has not fully recovered; their daughter Helen is having health challenges as well ask the Lord for total healing for them both. 

SATURDAY 28TH Thank the Lord for the visit by Village Care Initiative Nigeria, to Niamey and Torodi, Niger Republic it was indeed encouraging and a great success in the end. Pray that God will raise more of such groups that will support missions in various capacities. 

SUNDAY 29TH pray for the peace of Niger Republic there have been series of violent attacks in Tillaberi, where there are two EMS mission stations; Torodi and Fanoma as it is now the use of motorcycles have been restricted pray for normalcy to return to these area. 

MONDAY 30TH Pray for courage and an overpowering conviction for Ouma and Mari who want to give their lives to Christ but are afraid of backlash from their parents. Keep praying for Abdoulahi and Bourema who have passion for spreading the gospel as is evident in the great work they are doing, pray that God will continue to lead them to do his will. 

Tuesday 31ST ZAMBIA Thank God for the ministry of the Kuzasuwats in Zambia, in the first week of the year the Lord blessed them with five new convers and two who rededicated their lives to Christ in Kitwe field to God be the glory. 

  • Pray for the upcoming official inauguration of ECWA Zambia on 8th June 2020, pray that it will come to pass successfully. Pray that the lord will take charge of all the planning and logistics towards this great event.

Rev. Simon Yako is the EMS of ECWA Director. Rev. and Mrs. Simon Yako were the first couple to be sent to Togo, both graduates of Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (JETS). They both started work with EMS of ECWA as volunteer workers in 1985, and were formally engaged as EMS Missionaries three years later on July 6th 1988. On their initial engagement, they were sent to a home Mission in Ibil, Cross Rivers State in Nigeria.
